New York, NY – A new US airport is expected to offer more spacious rooms, greater security, and a more relaxed atmosphere to visitors, according to a new report.
The new Manhattan-to-Jersey airport, which is expected for construction next year, will replace Newark Liberty International Airport and allow the first flights from Newark Liberty to New York City to arrive on the same day.
New Jersey Gov.
Chris Christie, who is the chairman of the Federal Aviation Administration, said the new airport will create a more “mature” and “more welcoming” airport.
New York, the most populous state in the US, is also set to become the second largest city in the country with more than 9 million people.
The airport is set to cost about $300 million and be completed in 2023.
The state of New York is also planning to add a third terminal to Newark Liberty, which will bring more passengers to the airport.
Newark Liberty was opened in 1964 as Newark International Airport, but has been closed since 2009, due to a shortage of passenger flights.
